five things Friday

1. The Craig's List couch that I bought two weeks ago has been been promoted out of the garage and into our living room! I wouldn't say that it is smell-free, but I would say it is smoke-free. That was good enough for me, and I'm loving it.

2. Nathan, my sister and her husband, my dad, and several others were able to construct a magnificent new play set over the course of three days. They finished on Tuesday, and already it has been a huge hit!! I'm so excited about the many, many hours of playing that will be done on it over the next 10 years.

3. Marianna makes almost every decision right now according to eenie-meenie-minne-mo. Does every kid go through this phase, or is this her own little pecularity?

4. I really want to go on a family camping trip sometime soon, but it looks like April and May are out because of Marianna's Saturday morning soccer games. Do you think it's too hot for a camp fire once we hit June? I just can't imagine going unless there's a fire, so I wonder if we'll need to wait until October.

5. I've been thinking about home schooling more and more lately. I don't have anything against putting Marianna, and later Adrienne, in a public school, but I also love teaching and I think it might be a great fit for us. According to her birthday, Marianna doesn't start Kindergarten for another year and a half, but I'm throwing around the idea of going ahead and starting in the fall at home. We will see.

I just ordered a playset last night- totally looking forward to putting it together =) It was hard to find something I thought was decent quality at a little lower price point. It took me hours to decide from three at Wal Mart. Can I ask what kind you got and if you're happy with it?

we looked at wal-mart forever, and eventually decided on one we found at Sam's. It has a fort, swings, monkey bars, slide, and lemonade stand, but it wasn't outrageously expensive. I can't remember the name of the particular set, but I think we were all very pleased with how it turned out. Good luck!

I think you should start homeschooling M. !!! She is so brilliant anyways that she would definitely benefit from it....and you are such a great teacher! Maybe you'll pave the way for me to have confidence to do it.

I'm sure you'd do a fabulous job homeschooling Marianna! We're thinking very seriously about homeschooling. New Zealand starts kids kids in Kindergarten ON their 5th birthday (odd) so she's only a year away from it here in NZ. If we were in the US, she'd be nearly 18m from starting school though. I'm tossing the idea around of starting slowly next February, when the new school year begins. We will see what happens. I'd love to have more homeschooling Mommies on my blogroll. :)

We are in the same boat as you with Betsie and her Oct. birthday! I just ordered some math curriculum to homeschool next year. We've considered many options and different ways of doing homeschool, and I finally feel like I know which direction we are taking. Hope it goes well for y'all!
