Poppy's Song

Marianna is one of those deceptively shy children. She puts on a convincing performance until you've known her for about 5 minutes, and then she loses the act and turns a little wild. Right now she is in a singing kick so "wild" means running around the house, blasting a song away at the top of her lungs. Mostly she's into Disney songs, but I was able to talk her into singing this one for the camera. She calls it "Poppy's Song" because it's the same one we used in the video memorial, and she has loved it from the first time she heard it. I thought I'd share.

Oh my goodness, Angie! What a little tool of pure felicity! She is so adorable and endearing. I love how she crescendos with "...and like a flood" and then dramatically quiets her tone at the end. :) The blocks are a nice emphasis on her amazing multi-tasking skills. And who does she hire for wardrobe?...stunning! Truly, I loved it! I've already watched it three times.

If that isn't the most precious sight ever... I have chills and tears and smiles... thanks, Marianna. You are a rockstar for Jesus - and Poppy. :)

Oh Angie,

Marianna is absolutely precious singing "Poppy's song"! I cried the 1st, the 2nd and the 3rd time I watched it. This is a sweet and pure reflection of your home. I was just thinking about how proud your grandfather would have been of you and Nathan raising your daughter, even at this young age, to love Jesus. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Love, Yvette

P.S. It was so cute hearing you chuckle in the background - I'm sure it was hard to hold back the laughter while videoing.

I thought of sweet Poppy yesterday while my daughter was on a field trip. We live in California, which the Poppy is the California State Flower. The location for the field trip had poppies blooming everywhere. I actually took a picture of it, then realizing that although I think of little Poppy Joy often, I do not know you personally therefore do not have a way to share the picture. I guess now I will have my own little poppy garden to see each time I see the photo. Thinking of your adorable family! And the singing is absolutely precious.
