T-minus 2 days

Anticipation, I am just about to kiss you goodbye.

You have been my constant companion these past four months, inspiring me, pushing me, keeping me going.

You've been a companion worth having because you have gotten me to the place I need to be.

But at 8:00 Saturday morning as soon as the whistle blows, you will be gone.

Because at 8:00 AM when the whistle sounds, the race will begin.

13.1 miles. St. Jude Half-Marathon. Here I come!

That's wonderful that you're running for a good cause! I've been a Partner in Hope for 17 years--- one year before my 15 month old was tested for leukemia. Thankfully, she did not have cancer! (blood disorder) Anyway, I've always been thankful to know that if we'd needed it, it would have been there--- and not bankrupted us. (That's what my husband's ex-wife was for. lol) I'm proud of you and can't wait to hear about the race. =)

As the mom of a child with cancer, thank you!!!

I never dreamed a year ago that my 3 year old would spend the past year fighting kidney cancer. We are some of the fortunate ones whose cancer had a good prognosis and surgery/chemo/radiation without too much devastation. But most children aren't that fortunate.

I don't think most Americans realize that ALL pediatric cancers combined only receive 3% of cancer research dollars!! (Breast cancer is #1 and has the most advanced and effective therapies.) So many treatments for children are over 40 years old and cause severe long term damage. And many other children have no effective options. St. Jude's, CureSearch, and St. Baldrick's are leading the way in cutting edge research.

So if you feel led and can help, please give these children HOPE and a future by doing one or more of the following...

*TELL others about childhood cancer.
*GIVE money toward research.
*HELP at a local children's hospital or fundraiser.
*Donate BLOOD the gift of life.
*PRAY for these children and their families.

THANKS AGAIN!!
