things I love for summer

  • Fiber One oats and chocolate bars. The most delicious way to eat fiber that I have yet to find!  They come in about five flavors, but I'm telling you, try the oats and chocolate first.

  • OPI nail polish.  I used to think finger nail polish was created equal, but this is not true. Yes, OPI is a little more expensive than Revlon or L'Oreal, but it is the only polish I can use that turns out looking anything like a manicure.  It doesn't chip, bubble, or goop up, and other than user error, I don't think you can go wrong with it.

  • Volatile flip flops.  I REALLY love these.  These flip flops are the most comfortable summer shoe I have, and because they have the platform sole, they can pass for dressy or casual.  I have them in brown, black, and tan so that I can match everything I own to at least one of them.

  • Target's kids sun dresses.  They are $5.00!!!  How can you beat that?  My girls have three each for the grand total of $30.00.  I can't even sew that cheaply.  Thank you Target!

  • iPod Shuffle.  I owe my shuffle for my recent return to running, because without the extra motivation of Mandisa blasting in my ear, I don't think I would have been able to get back in the groove.  And at $45.00 bucks, you can't beat it.

  • Waffle Cone Wednesday, courtesy of TCBY.  The perfect summer treat, for the great price of $1.50.

  • And what else do I really love to get the summer started off right? A Kris Allen American Idol victory.

Let me know your summer favs to!

I have to agree about the fiber one bars. They are delicious! My summer fav: Jerry's snow cone!

I like capuccino blasts from Baskin Robbins. But I like them year round!
I also like playing outside until after 8:00 because it's not dark yet.

Now that I am pregnant and need the fiber, I am living off of the Fiber One bars. I tried the Fiber One "pop tarts" and they aren't as good. Luckily our Costco carries the Oats and Chocolate ones so I can eat 1-2 a day!

Oh be careful with those fiber one bars! They can be deadly (if you know what I mean) if you eat too many in day.

I'm with you on the chocolate, but I go for the real stuff, not that fiber junk! ;) And nothing beats a hot summer run while jammin' to itunes! I'm all about flops too...this is my current fave; sparkely and flat! http://www.anntaylorloft.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=16811&No=15&loc=LN&Ns=CATEGORY_SEQ_232&N=1200266&Nty=1&categoryId=232&defaultColorNameFromCategory=Gunmetal%20Melange&defaultSizeTypeFromCategory=Misses

Fiber One bars are my best friend right now...I'm glad to know that Costco has them. The wedding cake supreme snow cone from Jerry's is the BEST!

you should try the opi color. I love this polish as well!
It's all Greek to me-- it's a hot pink color but I love it!!!! :)

Those are my favorite bars! I have to agree with you on almost all of your favorite, except that I had to stop wearing flip flops...hurt my feet:( I need to download some new running songs because I am kind of burned out on my current list!

Hope you are feeling better:)

Matt and I are both huge fans of the oats and chocolate fiber one bars!! I see that AJU5's Mom eats them, and she's pregnant. However, I haven't been able to eat one since I've been pregnant without getting sick....I have been sticking with Kashi Peanut Peanut Butter lately.

The ocean! Whether lounging on the beach, swimming with the sharks (ok, not really) or kayaking, I just love the ocean in the summer when the water is bath-tub ready warm. Of course, the summer also brings us hurricanes and that part I can do without.

I love the summer sounds: birds, water (from a fountain or pool), tan feet (and body) though I don't have to be super dark, just not pasty white! and sandals!! We love to grill out and eat outside in the summer, though not exclusively, vacations, smoothies, walks, eating fruit, longer days!!! I used to love singing "Now the day is over" on Sunday nights after "the man of God, closed the Book of God . . . " and going outside and it still being light :) Sweetness!

Hey Angie- What kind of flip flops are those? I need to get something comfortable and cute while I am in the States...

Rebecca,

They are Volatile flip flops. Nathan's sister Jana has a shoe store and she sells them in TONS of colors and styles. I try and get a new pair every year because they are so versatile and very, very comfy!
