lately

This picture captures our sweetheart. She is happy and sweet and loves giving big smiles.

September 12 was my Papa's 77th birthday, and part of the celebration included getting out his old Model A Ford. The girls--especially Marianna-- loved it! I miss him so much, but celebrating his life is something I love to do.

Our little bit is already four months old! You can see that she's still tiny, but she's looking more like a big girl every day.

Our church had a community block party Sunday night, complete with pony rides for the kids. This was a breakthrough moment for Marianna, who up to this point has refused to ride a pony. As you can tell from her face, it was a hit.

Adrienne got in the fun with this little goat. She enjoyed most of the festival from her stroller, but we wanted her to have at least one photo op moment.

Marianna LOVED the slides...and believe it or not, this was the smaller of the two she went down. Overall, a very momentous day for our formerly timid two-year old!

It just amazes me how much she looks like y'all. Thanks for sharing your life with all of us, I really enjoy it. I need to post my pictures of my kiddos at the Bartlett Festival. We had a fun time too.

I found your blog some time ago, shortly after Poppy went to be with the Lord. Our family lost two babies due to triploidy, so I could relate to your story. I'm happy to read about your new baby daughter. By God's good and healing grace, we, too adopted a baby girl domestically. (It's been 10 years ago now!) We recently added a third daughter--a baby girl from Ethiopia. Isn't God good to us? He redeems our pain and restores our hope! We wouldn't exchange our lives for any other: God used everything to refine us for His glory and for our good. Anyway, I just wanted you to know that I have walked through your loss and joy with you. In Christ,

So sweet, the two of them. :)

I have to ask you, when you picked out Adrienne's name, did you do so because of the similarity in how it is laid out to Marianna? Adri-Mari/enne-anna? I'm persnickety!

Also, I've been meaning to tell you I bought a lovely summer dress this year that has poppies on it and I think of Poppy every time I wear it.

Peace

Sweet Angie,

Good morning! You have been on my mind the last few days, especially on Wed (being the 1st: Poppy's date) and then with Tristan's on the 3rd. Each month, on those dates, I remember your and my "December" dates and how close in days our precious babies were born.

I absolutely love these recent pictures of the girls. I just can't believe how big they are getting. Adrienne looks like such a happy baby and is so beautiful and of course Marianna is just as beautiful. Every time I see pictures of Adrienne, I see a picture of God's faithfulness to your family through the precious life of Poppy Joy. I am so thankful for Poppy Joy's life and for all that it has brought to my life and family this past year.

I love and miss you,
Yvette
